Un bateau allemand a pour mission de couler le plus de navires alliés possible quelques jours avant le commencement de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il détruit notamment un pétrolier anglais dont les nazis capturent le commandant. La flotte anglaise envoie donc trois bateaux pour les traquer et libérer le prisonnier.
